I will tell you all one thing. I will be so glad when this election is over. Now don't get me wrong I do support it and care about the issues with it and I'm an absnet-t voter. The problem is this is the first election I have to say I'm very disgusted with as far as adds go. Ok tv is fine but now because of my caller ID showing these numbers that I don't answer to which are usually these political people now they are leaving me voicemails! I delete about 5 or 6 voicemails a day realating to pre-recorded adds! If the government is going to allow people to flood our phones with this crap then they need to adjust the do not call list so that election calls will be a part of it. I pay too much for my phone service for it to be spammed with this crap. I know having a listed number which I do makes it an easier target for these people but I should have a right to have a listed number. Does anyone know what I can do? Should I write a letter to my phone company? to the government? I don't appreciate my phone getting clogged with these adds! It's harassing and needs to stop. Maybe I need to change my voicemail to a hateful message and maybe they'd get the hint!

Troy, I agree. It was a real pain. Yesterday morning on the news, some local lawyers were suing the phone company for dammages because of this.

Troy, That is a great idea to leave a hateful voicemail greeting! Before I do, give your friends and family and friends ahead notice and tell them you're putting a hateful greeting on your voicemail and why you're doing it. Another good idea is to write a letter to the phone company or government about this.

but most of those things are prerecorded. I honestly do not think the voicemail greeting idea is going to work.

It would work on the ocasion that these people are really calling you.
